"I paint because I am captivated by the interaction of light, color, form and structure. I enjoy taking a vision from the eye to the canvas, emphasizing impressionist distinctions of  hue more than value, (although both are important.) Painting isn't my everyday job, and when I paint everyday life and everyday time go somewhere else. Finally, and this is really important, I paint because I love the smell of turpentine even more than I love the smell of dog paws, which is a lot."

Ted Kutscher received his bachelor of arts from Dartmouth College, his bachelors of law   from the University of  Denver, and his master of science, (taxation) from Golden Gate University. He acknowledges that his degrees don't have much to do with his painting, except they make him appreciate impressionism all the more.
