"I
moved to Santa Fe in May 2007 after living in Berkeley CA for over 23 years and in California for over 35. The move was preceded by 6 years of teaching at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu. It’s the part of New Mexico where Georgia O'Keeffe lived and painted some of her most powerful works. It has provided me with endless inspiration.
I love the red hills, the ever changing sky, the open vistas and the landscape that seems to go on forever. This place provides visible evidence that everything is changing all the time and opens my creativity up to all sorts of possibilities. For me, Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch are the closest places to heaven I have found and my spirit flies and is fed there.
Other places I have exhibited include Berkeley San Diego and Mendocino ,where I lived as an artist in residence at the Mendocino Art Center. Like Abiquiu, Mendocino is another spirit-filled place for me and some of the images presented in the show are inspired by my time there.
